Today’s show was our last LIVE show for a while. Yes, Angela, with a tear in her eye, announced today that she will be taking a sabbatical from the live shows until the Autumn of 2016, but…..
….. boy did we have the most fabulous guests in the studio today, the brilliant Katie Ellis, founder of The Able Label and her mother, Valerie. Katie and her business is amazing – we learnt why Katie set it up and who it helps – everyone and anyone who has difficulty dressing or cares for someone and helps them dress. Only focussing on ladies at the present but I’m sure Katie will be expanding into the male market and probably also maybe kiddies, the product idea is superb and can bring confidence and independence to many ladies’ dressing requirements. If you wish to see Katie in person, she will be exhibiting/talking at the following:
Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent: 18th – 22nd April in collaboration with Ability Plus;
Angela was joined by another guest co-presenter, Hazel Addley who you may recall was on the show back in 2015 (listen back to her show from January 2015) and they both chatted with our great guest, Simon Lee of Unlimited Courage. Simon calls himself a Human Experience Coach and helps people discover and experience their own courage, confidence and wisdom. Hear how he does this and why he firmly believes our personal development and fitness industries would do well to merge for the benefit of us all.
Simon also explains more about the content of his forthcoming talk “Forge the Power of your Mind via your BODY” which takes place Wednesday, 25th May, 7-8:30pm at Sevenoaks School, Kent. It’s only a £10 investment which includes refreshments too. To book, visit Simon’s website. Hurry, I think this is going to be a very popular talk. See you there?
Angela was joined in the studio by Sarah Oakes (pictured here on the left) and Sarah Deason (on the right) from seAp Advoacy. We learnt why they joined the charity and what “advocacy” really means and how they support and help people safeguard their rights. Listen back to hear both Sarahs explain how seAp helps and also the news that with effect from 1st April 2016 there will be a new way to contact Advocacy services for adults in Kent. If you are looking for help on PIP or ESA you may find their c-app really useful too.
If you wish to volunteer for this charity, do get in touch as they are always looking for volunteers.
Happy New Year to you all. Our first show LIVE back in the Channel Radio studios with a sadness in our hearts at the passing of a great legend, David Bowie, he will be missed yet we are very grateful we have his music to continue to play in his honour.
Our guest today was the delightful, Clara Gibson, who runs 2 businesses, namely, Make That Difference (her coaching website) and Your Health in Your Hands (her work with Usana supplements and healthy living support). She chatted about how she came to be doing the work she does, as well as her forthcoming talk “Your Health in Your Hands, what the NHS won’t tell you” at The Ravensgate Arms, 56-58 King Street, Ramsgate, CT11 8NY 7.30pm(GMT). Clara also shared some tips on how to be healthier and happier.
Finally, Clara introduced Angela to Periscope – and so the whole show was aired through Periscope, under Clara’s Drastic to Fantastic account. Something Angela needs to investigate further for future show perhaps.
Lynn Marchant chats with us about how the wellbeing of your business relies on the wellbeing of your staff. Apologies: Due to a technical problem on the day, the recording starts about 15 mins into the show.
